How it all started

I'm a connector. The friend who remembers the birthday, remembers the details, and is never too busy to show up. Making people feel special has always filled my soul. It's just who I am.

Then life happens.

When I went back for my 25th college reunion, it was the first time in years I had spent real time with the women I once called sisters. In the weeks before, we found each other again over text. Which shoes would survive a full day of tailgating. What the weather would be. Small things that were really an excuse to be back in each other's lives.

That weekend showed me how much we had all been through, and how much we were still carrying. And we felt the absence of our friend, who we lost to breast cancer, in every step we took around that campus.

After that weekend, it weighed on my heart that I hadn't shown up the way I should have. I had lost touch with these truly wonderful women and hadn't been there when it really mattered. I wasn't the friend I always thought I was. When I got home to Arizona, I wanted to send each of those women something that said how much that weekend meant, and how much I valued them.

That's Heart Soulful. Every gift is chosen for a person and a moment, never pulled from one company's shelf. I search out and test pieces from makers I love, from Tucson to Bogotá, and bring their work together so the gift feels like someone went looking.

Either way, it's packed by hand in Tucson, with your note handwritten by me. The box is deep forest green, closes with a magnet, and opens slowly on purpose. Inside the lid, gold foil and cream linen. It's made to be kept.
